One of the BIGGEST problems you may face when trying to meet new friends is the awkward silence. In the past, I I struggled with this so much that I thought it could never be solved. I even thought it had to do with my DNA or something… but I proved myself wrong when I learned how to solve it. Not knowing how to keep a conversation going can really harm your social life, but if you know how to keep those words flowing, you can meet, talk to, and get to know pretty much anyone you like—creating great possibilities for friendship, fun, and shared activities that you would otherwise have missed out on.

The screaming started a few minutes before breakfast. As far as I could tell, our 2-year-old son Daniel took our seven-year-old daughter Isabelle's markers from her while she was drawing. And if you don't think that's a big deal you don't have kids.

I tried my typical parenting monologue: "I can see you're very upset; he's two years old sweetie, he doesn't know any better; the picture is beautiful just as it is; you needed to stop drawing anyway, it was time for breakfast; you have lots of other markers; OK it's enough — stop crying." Most people aren't Warriors, and I'm fine with it. Most people do things that don't make sense, and I'm fine with it. I've learned to accept the non-sense that fills this world.
