Knife Art by Nielly Francoise

December 10, 2012 - Posted by Tolzoh

Art is a form of self expression and people who used to think that expressing themselves with paint brushes is hard, then maybe they should take inspiration from Nielly Francoise because unlike other artists, Nielly uses Knives instead of paint brushes to paint. No matter how many times you look at the oil paintings of Nielly, you will not be able to believe that such work is done with a knife.

Enjoy these works of art and leave us a comment if you like this post.

Architectural Beauty: Chenequa Residence, Wisconsin

September 11, 2012 - Posted by Tolzoh

This curvaceous Wisconsin home was custom built by architect Robert Harvey Oshatz. The inside features a gorgeous spiraling hem-lock roof that “sweeps over the entry and lifts the upper floor before disappearing from plain view”. The Chenequa Residence is almost completely constructed from natural materials that Mr Oshatz sourced himself and with it’s beautiful outdoor landscape, each area of this home celebrates the resounding beauty of nature.

This is What Happens When You Give Thousands of Stickers to Thousands of Kids

September 1, 2012 - Posted by Tolzoh

This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Ar, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. How great is this? Given the opportunity my son could probably cover the entire piano alone in about fifteen minutes. The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12.

Paintings Made with Light and Shadows

August 30, 2012 - Posted by Tolzoh
Artist Rashad Alakbarov from Azerbaijan uses suspended translucent objects and other found materials to create light and shadow paintings on walls. The best part is that you can easily create something similar at home – all you need is one or two lamps and some items from your desk.

The stunning light painting below, made with an array of colored airplanes has found its way to exhibitions like the Fly to Baku at De Pury Gallery in London.

Above the cloud with its shadow is the star with its light. Above all things reverence thyself.
