Every year, during the two special
days in January, the desert city of Bikaner in the Indian state of Rajasthan,
hosts the most colourful event of The Bikaner Camel Festival. This festival is
dedicated to the ‘Working Animals’ (camels) of this city.
This amazing and interesting tribute
to camels includes a number of events, which includes races, rides, and even a
beauty contest! The most interesting part of the festival is where people get
to see the amazing art patterns cut and dyed on the camel’s hair. This particular
trend can only be found in this region of the world where such an amount of
work and dedication is put into making camels walking pieces of art. By dedication,
I do mean dedication because according to the photographer Osakabe Yasuo, the
artwork on the camels can take up to three years in the making. (Don't forget to leave a comment:)
